I Want To Hear From YOU!

When I first started this blog, it was a way to keep a record of our family adventures for the sake of sharing with friends and family. Over the last couple of years it's evolved into a way of sharing things with a wider audience, which is very exciting, but also prompts me to re-evaluate my content every so often to figure out what works and doesn't work.

Something many bloggers struggle with is niching in their content, and writing for their target audience. As a writer, sometimes it can be a struggle to not write about anything and everything that effects our lives. I read many blogs, and find myself gravitating back to the ones that serve me the most. In order to write for our target audience, we need to figure out who our target audience is, and discover how we can best serve them, to keep them coming back for more content.

I've made various posts over the last couple of years on the future of AAH, and really those were my attempts to find my target audience and figure out where I belong in the blogging world.

In 2019, I'm taking a bit of a different direction with this blog, and some good changes are in the works. My favorite thing to write about at this point in my life is our family adventures, activities and family travel. I want AAH to be a place for parents to get camping advice and ideas, travel/road trip tips, reviews of hotels/campgrounds, advice on kid's activities and sports, ideas for family traditions, and much more. I want to inspire other parents to be more active with their children, and to take more family adventures, even if it's just camping in your own back yard.

This is where YOU come in. I plan to feature stories and anecdotes about fun family trips, funny stories, helpful advice, and everything else mentioned above. For now, I want to focus on Atlantic Canada, and expand from there. Eventually I would love AAH to transition into more of an online magazine than a blog.

I am currently accepting submissions for the following:

  • Tips on road tripping with kids
  • Atlantic Canadian playground, campground and beach reviews
  • Stories about your favorite family vacation
  • Family traditions
  • Sports mom tips & tales (soccer, hockey, dance, etc)
  • Forest school type posts/outdoor activities
  • Fun Summer memories from your past (similar to Ice Cream And Open Houses )
If you're a fellow blogger who is interested in submitting a post, you will of course get full credit and links back to your blog. I am also interested in exchanging content and collaborations! If you have a story to tell, let me know!

If you aren't a blogger or writer but still have a story to tell or advice to give, I'm also looking to do interviews for stories. Email me at dedreannadrost@gmail.com or message me on social media!

Once I have content planned out for the next few months, AAH is getting a makeover! As always, stay tuned.
