Valentine's Fun Guide For Kids! Food, Crafts & Gifts

I'm a sucker for holidays, and Valentine's Day is no exception. Growing up, my parents always got me a little something for Valentine's Day and whether is was chocolate, flowers, etc I always appreciated the gesture.

I like to do up a little gift basket of items for Mason, which got me thinking of other gifts that might be fun to give to your little valentines.

I was going to create a little gift guide for kids, but then I got thinking about all of the other things I love about this lovely holiday and decided to include those as well.

Check out these fun Valentine's Day ideas for kids!

Crafts

Mason's Valentine's Art from 2017

  • Valentine Card Box- Gather up some craft supplies and have the kids create their own Valentines Day card boxes! I remember doing this as a kid and it was always so fun to use them to collect my Valentines at daycare or school.
  • Heart Banner- Cut out paper hearts and tape them to string to create a heart banner that can be hung anywhere in the house.
  • I Love You To Pieces (Pictured Above)- Have your preschooler glue paper pieces onto a drawn on heart.
  • Tape Letters/Shapes & Paint (Pictured Above)- Tape out a word or shape with painters tape and have your child paint around it.

Valentine's Treat Bag Ideas

I always send treat bags to M's class on Valentine's Day. It's just more fun than sending only cards, and being crafty I really enjoy making them.
The dollar store usually has little boxes or treat bags to put things in, as well as valentines, candy, etc, which makes it super easy. Here are some treat bag filler ideas:
  • Fruit snacks
  • A chocolate lollipop
  • A juice box
  • A mini water bottle decorated with their names
  • Crayons and a mini coloring book
  • A coupon/gift card for a free ice cream
  • Goldfish crackers
  • Mini cookies
  • Hershey's Kisses
  • Bubbles with a handmade tag saying "You Blow Me Away"
  • Valentine's M&Ms
  • Picture books
  • Lego (Never 'LEGO' of my heart)
  • Playdoh (You're A-DOH-able Valentine!)
  • Apple Sauce Squeeze Pouches (You're The Apple Of My Eye)

  1. That love bug crown is too cute! (That might have something to do with the wearer than the actual crown though ;)

I did the "love you to pieces" craft with my preschool students a few times! So easy to make but I have a free printable template on my blog if anyone is interested! http://www.sunshineandwhimsy.net/2015/02/super-simple-valentines-day-craft.html
